Day 01 / Arrival Delhi : Arrive Delhi, meet assist at the airport & transfer to hotel. Night stay in Delhi .
Day 02 / Delhi : After a leisurely breakfast sightseeing tour of New Delhi where ornate buildings recall the days when India was the Jewel in the crown of the British empire. Visit the 11th century Qutab Minar, India Gate and the grand government buildings, the President's House, Red fort, Mahatama Gandhi Memorial, Also visit Laxmi Narayan temple popularly known as Birla Temple. Night stay in Delhi.
Day 03 / Delhi - Agra ( By fast air-conditioned train train Dep 0615 Hrs Arr 0815 Hrs ) : Early morning pick up from hotel & transfer to railway station to board the superfast air-conditioned train to Agra. Breakfast in the train. Arrive Agra in approx. 02 hours & transfer to hotel. Later visit the Agra fort - the rusty and majestic red-sandstone fort of Agra stands on the banks of the river Yamuna and the construction was started by Emperor Akbar in 1566. At the Diwan-I-Am (hall of public audience), a colonnaded hall of red-sandstone with a throne alcoveof inlaid marble at the back, the Emperor heard public petitions. At the Diwan-I-Khas (hall of private audience) where marble pavilions with floral inlays lend an ethereal ambience, the Emperor sat on his gem-studded Peacock Throne and met foreign ambassadors and rulers of friendly kingdoms.Evening at sunset visit the magnificent Taj Mahal - one of the seven wonders of the world surely the most extravagant expression of love ever created. 20,000 men laboured for over 17 years to build this memorial to Shah Jahan's beloved wife. Day 04 / Agra - Jaipur ( By road Approx 5 Hrs) Enroute visitng Fatehpur Sikri : Early morning a second visit to Taj Mahal at sunrise , Later drive to Jaipur-the fabled "pink city" of the desert named after Jai Singh, the former Maharaja of Jaipur. This is the only city in the world symbolizing the nine divisions of the universe through the nine rectangular sectors subdividing it. The palaces and forts of the yesteryears, which were witnesses to the royal processions and splendours are now living monuments enroute visiting Fatehpur Sikri-a perfectly preserved red sandstone "ghost town" which was the estranged capital of mughal emperor Akbar, built in 1569 and deserted when its water supply failed. Arrive Jaipur in late evening & transfer to hotel. Night stay in Jaipur.
Day 05 / Jaipur : Morning excursion to Amber Fort. Elephant ride ascent to the fort.
AMBER FORT PALACE - Amber is the classic romantic Rajasthani fort palace. Its construction was started by Man Singh I in 1592, and completed by his descendent Jai Singh I. Its forbidding exterior belies an inner paradise where a beautiful fusion of Mughal and Hindu styles finds it's ultimate expression. Continue sight-seeing.
CITY PALACE - A delightful blend of Mughal and traditional Rajasthani architecture, the City Palace sprawls over one-seventh of the area in the walled city. It houses the Chandra Mahal, Shri Govind Dev Temple and the City Palace Museum.
JANTAR MANTAR - This is the largest and the best preserved of the five observatories built by Jai Singh II in different parts of the country. This observatory consisting of outsized astronomical instruments is still in use.
HAWA MAHAL - The ornamental facade of this " Palace of Winds " is a prominent landmark in Jaipur. Their five-storey structures of sandstone plastered pink encrusted with fine trelliswork and elaborate balconies. The palace has 953 niches and windows. Built in 1799 by Pratap Singh, the Mahal was a royal grandstand for the palace women. Night stay in Jaipur.
Day 06 / Jaipur - Ahmedabad ( By flight ) : Morning transfer to airport to board the flight to Ahmedabad. On arrival in Ahmedabad meet assist and transfer to hotel. Later proceed for city sightseeing of Ahmedabad covering Calico Textile Museum and Sabarmati Ashram started by Mahatma Gandhi. Also visit magnificent Mosque of Siddi Saiyad with its exquisite stone carvings, the beautiful Jama Masjid, white marbled Hathee Singh's Temple , Dada Hari Baoli, Shaking Minarets. Night stay in Ahmedabad.
Day 07 / Ahmedabad - Rajkot ( By road ) via Lothal ancient Indus valley civilization ( Closed on every Friday ) Approx. 04 hrs. drive : After breakfast proceed to visit Lothal. Lothal is one of the most prominent cities of the ancient Indus valley civilization. Located in the modern state of Gujarat and dating from 2400 BCE, it is one of India 's most important archaeological site that dates from that era. Discovered in 1954, Lothal was excavated from February 13, 1955 to May 19, 1960 by the Archaeological Survey of India. Later drive to Rajkot . On arrival at Rajkot transfer to hotel. Day 08 / Rajkot - Bhuj ( By road ) Approx. 6hrs. and half drive Enroute visiting Dholavira : After breakfast drive to Bhuj enroute visiting Dholavira. Dholavira - Located on the north-west corner of the Khadir Island and surrounded by water in the monsoons, lies the ancient city of Dholavira. It was discovered from under mounds of earth in the year 1967. These excavation sites are one of the largest Harappan sites in India , a part of the Indus valley civilization. The ruins of the settlement found here are believed to be more than 5,000 years old. The excavations done here have revealed many ancient artifacts, like seals, beads, animal bones, gold, silver, terracotta ornaments and vessels. Some of these items are linked to Mesopotamia , which proves that it was a major port and trading center of those times. It is believed that Dholavira is even older than the port city of Lothal. The most fascinating discovery of Dholavira is the large inscription, comprising of ten letters in the Indus script. Each letter has been engraved on slices of crystalline material. Day 09 / Bhuj - Mumbai ( By flight ) : Morning after breakfast transfer to airport to board the flight to Mumbai. On arrival at Mumbai airport meet assist and transfer to hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Night stay in Mumbai.
Day 10 / Mumbai : Morning after breakfast proceed for sightseeing of Mumbai covering proceed for Elephanta Caves . The Elephanta island is known as Gharapuri (fortress city). The 7th century cave temple complex, which has been carved out of rock under two small holls, is dedicated to Lord Shiva and was a flourishing place of pilgrimage tilla few centuries ago. It has a magnificent 18 feet high, three-headed bust of Shiva- the Maheshmurti. The main cave, which is known as Elephanta, is supported by masasiva pillars, each restin gon a supported by massive pillars, each resing on a square base with fluted shafts. Inside is the main hall housing sculptures of various gods in the Hindu mythology. This well known tourist spot is accessible by boat from the Gateway of India. Afternoon visit Gateway of India - The stone archway designed by Wittett in the 16th century Gujarati style, Prince of Wales Museum, Chowpatty Beach, Dhobhi Ghat - a vast outdoor laundry & Marine Drive. Day 11 / Mumbai - Departure : Transfer to airport on time to board the flight back to your home.
